Srinagar International Airport (IATA: SXR, ICAO: VISR) also known as Sheikh-ul-Alam Airport is located at 12 km at the north of Srinagar, serving the city with domestic and international flights. The airport is situated at a height of 5,445 feet

Srinagar is the summer capital of Jammu & Kashmir state, a sensitive region of India which used to be in conflict several times in the past and nowadays is enjoying of a calm period under heavy security measures. The main attractions of the city are the gardens, valleys, lakes and the numerous National Parks throughout the region.


Srinagar International Airport opened the international terminal on 2009.


Srinagar Airport hosted 2,191,289 passengers on 2016.


Strict security checks are done in the airport since it is a sensitive region.


Srinagar Airport has two terminals: a domestic terminal and an international terminal.
